Over Dimensional Cartage
Coynes transport have provided over dimensional pickup/delivery services over the years and can asist in any special load requirements you may have.
Here are a few examples of the work we have done in this area....
Victorian Wet Museum
Perhaps the most unusual job we've tackled was moving the Victorian Museum's Wet collection from Swanson Street in the city to a storage facility in Richmond.
The freight consisted of alcohol filled jars containing specimens of insects, to a twelve foot long giant squid.
The jars were placed into special interlocking tubs and then hand loaded into a vehicle with load-sensitive suspension that would fit with a low loading dock.
The Americas Cup
Some years ago Coynes was called upon to transport Australia's Challenger 2 Americas Cup yacht to Appleton Dock.
High Rise Building Construction Crane.
This shipment consisted of many sections ranging up to 17 meters in length.
Delivery had to be finalised in one day.
It took twelve semi loads to complete the job and additional cranes were hired to move the components from the wharf onto the trucks.
Decompression Chamber
This unusual shipment consisted of a decompression chamber, and the control room.
The destination was an oil rig off Barry Beach in the Portland area.
Special road permits, a pilot car, flags, flashing lights and signage were required before the shipment could leave the wharf.
