The Coynes Freight Management Group is one of Australia's longest standing family-owned, independent transport companies.

W.R. (Bob) Coyne and son, Neville, started the business in 1952 by purchasing two vehicles to distribute newspapers and periodicals. A short time later they expanded their services to include the transportation of furniture.

A partnership formed between the Ford Motor Company and Coynes in the 1960's heralding the start of major growth for the transport company.

Coynes also introduced a new service in the transportation of goods to and from Melbourne's waterfront and by 1969 was at the forefront of containerised freight handling.

The new millennium sees Coynes under the direction of Neville's sons, Kevin as Managing Director and Chris as the Finance Director.

There are four divisions operating within Coynes Freight Management Group:

Consequently, Coynes has become a major force in the Victorian Transport Industry, specialising in wharf cartage and general container handling.
